Sometimes, in the midst of all my madness, I wish there were a place I could go to have a nice drink and simply sing.
Now I finally have it! Sunday nights at the Black Crown Lounge from 7-10 is my new jazz show!! Martinis and Misbehaving celebrates vintage jazz from the 1920s through the 1950s. It is a night of old school glamour in the perfect location. The Black Crown has intimate seating and an open floor plan on several levels centering around a beautiful baby grand piano. Sunday nights, the ivories wi...ll be tickled by David Nehls. David is an amazing pianist and the current musical director at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. So, this is going to be a great evening!
The Martini part of my show will be "Cora Vette's Dirty Kettle One Martini" special for $8. The Misbehaving part? I'll try to be classy and behave myself...but, hell, we all know how that usually ends up. I’d put odds on misbehaving…
The Black Crown was just awarded 5280 Magazine’s Top Of The Town 2013 for Best Gay Bar, and they don’t solely identify as a gay bar so everyone is welcomed and encouraged to come. I was awarded OUTFront’s Reader’s Choice OUTstanding Award 2013 for Local Entertainer of the Year. So, this seems like a match made in heaven.
